October 17, 2007, Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (registration 7:30-8:30 a.m.)

Please join us and over 1,000 students and advisers from Oregon high schools at the annual Fall Press Day!  Fall Press Day 2007 will prove to be an exciting experience with blockbuster keynote speakers and some 60-70 sessions.  It is held on the Oregon State University campus in Corvallis, Oregon.

KEYNOTE PRESENTATIONS:

  1. A team of staff reporters from The Oregonian will tell how teamwork helped them win the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting.  The staff won the award for its skillful and tenacious coverage of a family missing in the Oregon mountains, telling the tragic story both in print and online.
  1. Judy Babb, MJE, with over 30 years in high school and college publications and      currently the Educational and Creative Specialist with LifeTouch Publishing, will deliver a talk with a focus on photography.  The title of her talk is Photography—From Ordinary to Extraordinary. She will explore ways to get great photos for yearbooks and newspapers instead of mediocre shots that anyone could take.
