Central Web Services(CWS) assists the OSU community in hosting, developing, and enhancing their Web sites. CWS hosts Web sites for central administration, individual colleges, departments, programs, faculty and student groups, as well as for each OSU student. The CWS development staff has the expertise to create new sites, redesign existing sites, enhance sites with database integration, create customized web applications and assist with all levels of site repairs. Services are fee-based and are available to all campus units.

Extension and Experiment Station Communications is one of 16 departments in OSU's College of Agricultural Sciences and provides communication services for two outreach programs at Oregon State University-the OSU Extension Service and the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station. Communications faculty and staff offer advice, planning, production, and training for OSU Extension and Station faculty and staff at on- and off-campus sites. The department is funded by the OSU Extension Service and the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station.

The Forestry Communications Group offers a variety of print and Web-based editing, design and prepress services. A unique specialty is support for scientific publishing, with a focus on forestry, natural resources and the biological sciences. Design and printing of high-quality posters for presentation of scientific findings to either research or lay audiences is an additional service. The department also provides general design and publishing support for print and electronic publications targeted to specific audiences. Services are fee-based and are available to all campus units.

The Forestry Media Center is a unique communication facility in the College of Forestry. The FMC provides new ideas, tools and technologies to communicate forestry and natural resource information and issues to a wide variety of audiences, from scientist to grade-schoolers. Although the primary users of FMC services come from forestry and naturalresources, the FMC can work with other units and disciplines (both on- and off-campus) on an availability basis. Media Services, an Information Services department, is OSU's centralized instructional media service. Media Services provides resident faculty with instructional media resources that can be used to enhance classroom and distance learning instructional processes. News and Communication Services disseminates all university news to the news media and the department is the place to begin when faculty, staff and students have an OSU-related news story or event to publicize. All services are free. The News Service works with all media, from on-campus to international, in all formats-print, broadcast and electronic. Contact the News Service with tips on research findings, professional publications, initiatives, students activities, or new programs as soon as possible. The department also publishes OSU Today and the faculty-staff newsletter OSU This Week every Thursday during fall, winter, and spring terms, and monthly during summer term.

Sea Grant Communications provides communication support to Oregon Sea Grant-funded research, education, Extension, and administrative activities. Sea Grant is a federally- and state-funded program based at OSU since 1968. The Athletics Media Relations office provides media and public relations for OSU athletic teams, coaches, student-athletes and staff. The office produces publications, press releases, and other materials that deal with intercollegiate athletics. The office also develops and coordinates the OSU athletics Web site.

The Office of University Marketing is responsible for developing and providing leadership for the execution of the university's marketing plan. The office seeks to coordinate marketing execution across university functions in support of the president's goals for the university. Periodic assessments and market research are conducted to determine key constituents' reactions to materials, overall brand image and response to advertising and promotional messages. Consulting on how to conduct and coordinate market research, including qualitative and quantitative studies, is available.
This unit manages the relationship with the university's ad agency of record. Units wishing to advertise in broadcast, print or online media can access the media buying and creative resources of the University's ad agency through this office. The advertising agency provides media planning services and placement at no additional charge to any OSU unit. Using the advertising agency of record ensures that all advertising placed will meet University and advertising industry standards and practices.
University Marketing welcomes all inquiries about media advertising or marketing strategies from any OSU unit. Several times a year, University Marketing also sponsors group educational sessions about issues of interest to campus or off-campus marketers.
