CORVALLIS - The Oregon State University Department of Music will sponsor its annual High School Vocal Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 2. The all-day workshop begins at 9 a.m. in OSU's Benton Hall.

The workshop is designed to encourage and instruct young vocal performers, and to help them prepare for solo and ensemble contests and festivals. Directors and voice instructors are encouraged to register and observe any or all of the sessions. As part of the workshop, students are encouraged to sing a classical solo song of their choice for a short coaching session. Piano accompaniment will be provided.

The workshop will be taught by OSU music department faculty members who specialize in vocal performance and choral studies. They include Richard Poppino, Steven Zielke, Lisa Actor, Tina Bull, Maggie Daane, Janet Hackett, Jill Soltero and Richard Wagner.
