Dear ELI Student:
Welcome to the English Language Institute (ELI) at Oregon State University! We are delighted you will be attending classes summer term 2008. The following information should help you as you get settled and prepare to start classes.
1. When you arrive on campus please come to the ELI office with your passport. The office is on the third floor of Snell Hall, room 301. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. THE OFFICE IS CLOSED ON SATURDAY, JUNE 21st AND SUNDAY, JUNE 22nd. See a map.
2. If you have a housing contract to live in a campus residence hall and are arriving on Sunday, June 22nd, you may move into your room on that day. All Summer Session housing accommodations will be in West International Hall. You will need to go to the West Service Center between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for room check-in.

3. Early check-in: IF YOU NEED TO CHECK INTO YOUR ROOM BEFORE JUNE 22nd OR AFTER OUR HOURS OF OPERATION, PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL THE PEGGY DUNCAN WITH HOUSING AND DINING TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. HER TELEPHONE NUMBER IS 1-541-713-7354 OR SEND AN EMAIL: Please email Peggy at: Peggy.Duncan@oregonstate.edu
4. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A HOUSING CONTRACT AND WOULD LIKE TO LIVE IN A RESIDENCE HALL, PLEASE GO TO THE OFFICE OF UNIVERSITY HOUSING AND DINING SERVICES IN BUXTON HALL. THE HOUSING OFFICE IS OPEN FROM 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. IF YOU ARRIVE THE WEEKEND BEFORE ORIENTATION, AND WOULD LIKE TO LIVE IN A RESIDENCE HALL, PLEASE GO TO WEST SERVICE CENTER FOR ASSISTANCE DURING WEST SERVICE CENTER OPERATION HOURS FROM 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on SUNDAY, JUNE 22nd. 5. If you need temporary housing upon arrival before the beginning of the term you may wish to stay in an off-campus motel. There are several motels nearby with
restaurants within walking distance:
