I.             REPORT FROM ACADEMIC AFFAIRS: (G. Beach)

A.      Bob Burton has been named the Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs.

II.           OLD BUSINESS

1. The Council discussed and approved the Category II proposal for the elimination of the Home Economics Core Curriculum.  There was discussion to confirm that the proposal would not adversely affect current students. 
   
2. The Council discussed and approved the  Category I proposal to initiate instruction for a M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Bioresource Engineering.  Funding and cost-share issues were discussed.
