RE: Tuber Moths

As you know, tuber moths caused substantial damage in some potato fields this past year when larvae
tunneled into tubers. Many of these moths have already been found in the area. Because of this risk,
on Thursday, June 24th at 4:00 PM there will be a short course on identifying tuber moths (worm) at the
Hermiston Agricultural Research and Extension Center. We will also describe how we have set up the traps
already in use and provide an opportunity to see what the moths look like in the traps. We will also have
a short discussion related to how to best look for these insects and how, with what, and when these insects
should be controlled to reduce the likelihood of damage. I do not envision this taking longer than 1 hour.
I will apply for 1 hour of recertification credit from both Oregon and Washington.

Everyone is welcomed so please pass the word to anyone who might be interested.

Refreshments will be provided courtesy of Wilber Ellis.
