| Eisen-ELI: Second Language Methodology in
the New Standards-Based Proficiency Environment:
Professional Development for Preservice and Practicing Teachers at the K-12 Levels, an Eisenhower Grant Project funded in 1999-2000 |
| Participating departments in this 1999-2000
project
at Oregon State University were the English Language Institute, School
of Education, and Foreign Languages. The teachers primarily served by the
grant were ESL and foreign language teachers in the Corvallis, Albany,
and Lincoln County school districts, and pre-service ESL and foreign language
teachers at Oregon State University. The purpose of the project was to
provide sustained training opportunities for incorporating current second
language methodology into the new standards-based proficiency environment.
Participants included Oregon State University's School of Education and
Foreign Language Professional Teachers Education Program (PTEP) cohort
as well as practicing ESOL, Foreign Language, and Bilingual teachers in
the Benton, Linn, and Lincoln County school districts.
